Bridging the Digital Divide Through ICT4D
Urban Ministry Jos is at the forefront of bridging the digital divide through Information, Communication and Technology for Development(ICT4D) products. The programme has enabled thousands of people in Nigeria to acquire skills in IT and access the Internet.
Empowering Communities through Microcredit
Urban Ministry has been empowering the poor urban communities in Nigeria through small loans and business skills training. The innovative integrated programme works through cooperatives to enhance the income generation initiatives of the poor communities. Through the generous financial support from ADF, EED, CRWRC/CRWM and CBDD, Urban Ministry has put smiles on the faces of many marginalised people who had been living on less than a dollar aday. Through the programme, the beneficiaries have been able to increase their incomes considerably. They can now afford three mails a day, send their children to school and access basic healthcare for their families.
So far more than 12,000 households and 4,000 cooperative have been supported. The beneficiaries are drawn from Plataeu, Benue, Lagos, Kaduna, Bauchi and Federal Territory Capital(FCT) Abuja.
